Facebook Connect is the interface that allows you to connect to the Archive using your Facebook account.  On quite a few occasions I've found that I keep getting timeouts.  Unfortunately this isn't something I can do anything about as it is due to facebooks flakey platform that seems to have issues on a daily basis.  I've ended up disassociating my account with Facebook on the Archive... here's how:

Disacccoiating your account with Facebook

1- From the frontpage of the Archive look to the column on the right hand side and you'll see a panal called 'Your Profile'.  Click on the link that says 'Forgot your Password'.

2 - It will then ask you to type in the email address you've associated with your account.  Type this in and click on the submit button.

3 - You will be taken to a screen asking you to type in a token.  Check your email (including spam folders) and you should have a email with a 'token' in which is a string of characters.  Copy this and paste it into the box on the webpage.  Click on the submit button.

4 - If all went well you should now be taken to a screen that asks to type in a new password and confirm.  Do this and you'll now be able to log in using your username and password.

I actually think this is better because you can use the 'remember me' option then and the you'll automatically be logged in each time you visit the Archive!
